Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who made #RiverSong16 a success! We had a fantastic weekend filled with top-notch performances, delicious food, fun games and so many smiles. Throughout the weekend, we kept hearing great comments from fans, sponsors and volunteers. We heard more than once that RiverSong is the “friendliest festival” and “favorite festival” and “such a well-run festival.” We couldn’t ask for anything more!Friday night brought beautiful weather and nearly-record Friday night crowds. Saturday brought families and more than 500 kids to enjoy games, The Okee Dokee Brothers and the rest of our wonderful performers. Saturday night we couldn’t quite stay clear of the stormy weather. After a rain/lightening delay, we were unable to restart the closing act at the park. But, thanks to John “A-Frame” Beck’s quick work to gather and set up extra equipment and Main Street Sports Bar’s hospitality, Crowded Streets-The Dave Matthews Band Experience was able to perform during their quick Minnesota trip. An extra thanks to the guys in the bad for their willingness to go with a differnt plan. And, a huge thank you to our site/security/stage and extra volunteers who helped with quick teardown to avoid storm damage to any of the grounds or equipment. Thankfully, everyone stayed safe! Our sincere thank yous continue to so many people…our sponsors for making the festival possible and helping us keep ticket prices affordable for families…our community partners, including the City of Hutchinson, Hutchinson Parks & Rec, Hutchinson Police Dept. and more for their quality services and support…Mandy Thode Sturges/Bella Lou Photography, Janet Menton and Peter Lewandowski for photo and vido work…our volunteers for their help over the weekend…our committee members for their planning throughout the year…our steering committee for their year-round leaderhship…and of course, our fans! We’re so grateful to have seen our eigth festival come together. We hope our entire Hutchinson community and all of our supporters are proud of the event–we couldn’t do it without you!
