Big Music Weekend

Summer shows are officially in full swing and RiverSong 2012 is just two weeks away! As the anticipation grows we see a lot of our friends are out and about, doing what they love. This weekend in particular is a big music weekend. Its not too late to get an early sneak peak and a live music fix from some of our performers for this year.
NORTH: Twin Ports Bridge Festival
MATT RAY AND THOSE DAMN HORSES and LUCY MICHELLE AND THE VELVET LAPELLES are joining Trampled by Turtles for the second day of the Twin Ports Bridge Festival in Duluth this Sunday, July 8th. The family friendly music and comedy group the BUNNY CLOGS will be entertaining kids of all ages Saturday, July 7th. Trampled by Turtles, hailing from Duluth, wanted the festival to benefit the flood relief. The first day was already set to benefit a music program and now, in addition, all proceeds from Sunday and any extra money from Saturday will be going to the United Way Flood Relief Fund. Get up to the beautiful North Shore and support the music and the cause!
CITIES: Basilica Block Party
LUCY MICHELLE AND THE VELVET LAPELLES will be rocking the 18th annual Basilica Block Party on the grounds of the Basilica of Saint Mary and surrounding blocks. The concert benefits the restoration of The Basilica of Saint Mary and the Saint Vincent de Paul Outreach Program and is one of the highlights of the Twin Cities summer events. Tickets are still available!
SOUTH: 80/35 Music Festival
USEFUL JENKINS and PIETA BROWN will be joining the Avett Brothers on Friday, July 6th, which is the first day, of the 5th annual Des Moines 80/35 Music Festival. The lineups for this festival are long! Tons and tons of performers are packed onto three separate stages of this HUGE festival that attracts over 30,000 music lovers from around the country into the Western Gateway Park of Des Moines.
